As soon as you enter the hotel Maxim you will be charmed by the atmosphere of the beginning of the 20 century. The beautiful and spacious entrance hall is decorated by the furniture ofrom the time period of the First Republic (1918-1938) , mirors in Art Nouveau style, stained glass with well worked- out pendants. You will really feel like being in the last century.
There is a sofa set with wi-fi access available. In the entrance hall, there is a reception desk with an exchange office and accessories for sale open 24 hours a day.
The hotel Maxim belongs to the cultural sights of Mariánské Lázně. The famous Russian writer Maxim Gorkij took cures and wrote his books here at the turn of the year 1923 and 1924.
In 2004 the hotel Maxim was reconstructed. This reconstruction included the building up of the 4 floor and a new spa therapy center with a swiming pool. As a complement to offered services a multipurpose lounge was created.
The big advantage of the hotel Maxim is its location near the spa Colonnade, the Forest spring and the geological park.
The youngest and the most bautiful spa of the West Bohemian spa towns was established in 1808 by the abbot of the monastery in Teplá Karel Kašpar Reitenberger, its doctor Josef Nehr and the landscape designer Václav Skalník. In 1818 Mariánské lázně became a public spa and in 1868 it was declared a town. Over 100 mineral sprint bubble out of the ground in this area and about 40 springs can be found directly in the town. The temperature of these spings is between 7 and 10 degres of Celsius. It is recommended to drink ¾ of litre a day during a drinking cure. The mineral springs are also used for inhalations and baths. There is a highland climate here.
Among the architectural sights there is the spa centre, Russian Orthodox church of Saint Vladimir, Anglican church, Roman Catholic churche of St.Maria Assumption, cultural centre Casino, Chopin´s House etc.
